Burke Chappell Wilson Tuesday, March 16, 1937 - Thursday, July 13, 2017

Silver Bay. Burke Chappell Wilson, 80, of Silver Bay, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at her residence. Born in Hertford, North Carolina, March 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo Dow and Tallew Copeland Chappell. Burke Wilson held degrees from the University of North Carolina (Greensborough), the State University of New York and Hofstra University among others. She taught secondary education, art and business for many years on Long Island, NY before semi retiring to Silver Bay where she worked and volunteered at the YMCA at Silver Bay for the remainder of her life. When contacted for comment, an associate described Ms. Wilson as “Total Awesome Sauce!” She was a devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by two sons, Christian Dow Wilson of Lake Grove, NY and Angus Allen Wilson of Queensbury, NY as well as six grandchildren, Luna, Logan, Victoria, Luke, Elizabeth and Benjamin. A Memorial Mass will take place at the Episcopal Church of the Cross, 311 Champlain Ave, Ticonderoga, NY on July 28th at 11 a.m. Donations are not necessary, but are gratefully appreciated to the Episcopal Church of the Cross where Burke was an active parishioner until her passing. Donations can also be made to her son Angus Wilson, but he may spend them on beer so it's not recommended! ;) To offer online condolences, please visit www.wilcoxandreganfuneralhome.com

Burke, For someone so small you left a big hole in our hearts.  You were a special friend to me and I will always remember our times together. Thank you for that.  Now you can get the rest you so badly needed. I will miss you forever.  Love, Jill

Dear Angus and family,
